UK projects and export supply · Single sets and fleet enquiries

A bespoke acoustic diesel generator is a coordinated power package. Its engine and alternator must support the electrical demand, while the enclosure manages noise, weather protection, airflow and maintenance access.
FW Power can develop Blackwell generator proposals around prime or standby duty, space restrictions, fuel autonomy, noise-sensitive surroundings and the way your team connects and operates the equipment. We can compare suitable package options and define the scope for supply, delivery, installation and commissioning.
Blackwell Generators is owned and distributed by FW Power Generators Limited. This gives you a direct conversation with the power team about the machine and the practical work around it, including servicing, testing and ongoing support.

Blackwell's published catalogue extends from 8.5 kVA prime to 3,150 kVA standby. These are the range endpoints on different duty ratings, not interchangeable outputs. We select the actual model and acoustic configuration for your application.
| Engine range | Published capacity | Selection guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Perkins Premium | 8.5–2,500 kVA prime | Compact single-phase through to large three-phase packages.|
| Perkins EnergyMax | 9.8–2,500 kVA standby | Commercial and industrial backup power options.|
| Cummins DynoMax | 27.5–2,250 kVA standby | Engine choices for site-specific and larger installations.|

A 500 kVA enquiry needs more detail than a rating alone. We review the required kW, voltage, frequency, phase, largest motor and permitted voltage or frequency dip. Ambient temperature and altitude may also affect available output.
Ask about Perkins, Cummins, Baudouin and Doosan engines, with suitable alternator options including Stamford and Leroy-Somer where available for the selected build. Alternator frame, excitation and motor-starting performance are confirmed against the load.
For long-running temporary power, use the appropriate prime rating and operating limits. For emergency backup, specify the required standby duty. Read our prime and standby guide.
Where several sets offer a better operational solution, our team can also discuss synchronised generator packages.
“Silent” and “super silent” describe reduced-noise equipment. They do not mean soundless operation or a universal noise rating. We start with where the sound matters and how the generator will run.
Sound pressure, LpA, in dB(A) is measured at a stated position. Distance, load, surfaces and background noise affect the result. A reading at 7 metres cannot be compared directly with one at 1 metre.
Sound power, LWA, characterises the source's sound emission. It is a different quantity, even when also expressed in A-weighted decibels. Check which figure a datasheet gives.
For a site limit, agree the receptor or boundary position, operating condition and measurement method. A nearby wall, a reflective courtyard or several running generators can change the assessment.
Understand generator noise and dB(A)Panel construction, acoustic absorption and sealed access points help control noise breaking out of the enclosure.
Inlet and discharge treatment can reduce noise while preserving the cooling airflow the machine needs.
Silencer selection and exhaust routing must respect the engine's permitted backpressure.
Appropriate isolation, flexible connections and placement help address structure-borne noise and site impact.
Cooling must remain effective. Extra acoustic treatment can increase airflow resistance and enclosure size. We consider radiator capability, heat rejection, access and exhaust restrictions alongside the noise target. Achievable performance and verification are agreed for the proposed installation.
A rental-ready build should make repeated transport, connection, operation and servicing practical. Tell us how your fleet works so the specification supports your customers and engineers.
Options are assessed and priced against the chosen model. Stage V engine requirements are a separate specification decision: a rental canopy alone does not establish emissions compliance. Our team can explain suitable choices for the intended market and use.
These are applications to discuss with our team. They illustrate why a common canopy is not enough: each job has its own load profile, operating environment and connection requirements.
Site compounds, welfare facilities, lighting and tools. Prioritise rugged handling, practical outlets, fuel autonomy and motor starts.
Temporary compounds, pumps and planned infrastructure works. Review restricted access, shift length, noise limits and site approvals.
Location lighting, production facilities and technical equipment. Acoustic targets and load changes need early assessment.
Staging, catering, temporary buildings and lighting. Consider phase balance, distribution, overnight noise and reserve capacity.
Planned shutdowns and temporary production power. Check starting currents, load steps and operating hours.
Pumping, treatment support and outage works. Starting duty, remote alarms and refuelling access can determine the package.
Irrigation, ventilation, processing and seasonal loads. Review motors, environmental exposure and critical temperature control.
Yard operations and temporary warehouse or refrigeration support. Evaluate continuous demand, corrosion exposure and load sequencing.
Temporary sites and maintenance cover. Fuel autonomy, monitoring, security and low-load operation warrant attention.
Refurbishment, business continuity and temporary facilities. Site boundaries, public access and unobtrusive operation matter.
Temporary resilience during planned works. Engineered transfer, protection and continuity arrangements require specialist coordination; a generator alone does not provide uninterrupted power.
Mobile operations, recovery work and remote support. Assess dust, access, weather, starting loads and dependable refuelling arrangements.

The photograph shows the scale of component stockholding behind generator assembly. For your order, we check the exact engine model, alternator frame and control equipment alongside the proposed canopy and production schedule.
This is not a live stock counter. Components can be allocated to other builds, and a stocked engine does not necessarily mean a finished generator is ready to dispatch.
Check components for your buildShare the application, duty, load schedule, noise target, site details and required date.
Review suitable engines, alternators, enclosure design, fuel systems and control arrangements.
Confirm dimensions, scope, documentation, testing, price and lead time before proceeding.
Coordinate delivery and any agreed installation, commissioning, operator familiarisation and service support.
Discuss load-bank testing, functional checks, control settings, documentation and any acoustic acceptance measurements as part of the order. A factory test and an installed-site test answer different questions. The agreed test schedule should state the load, conditions and acceptance criteria.
Planning an acoustic generator or specifying the next addition to your rental fleet? These are useful starting points for your conversation with our team.
It is a diesel generating set specified around the site and load, with an acoustic enclosure and noise-control measures selected for the application. Silent is an industry description for reduced noise, not zero noise. The quotation should define the output, duty, sound target, measurement conditions and supplied equipment.
The published Blackwell catalogue spans 8.5 kVA prime to 3,150 kVA standby across its ranges. Prime and standby are different ratings. We confirm the suitable model, prime kW and kVA, enclosure, engine, alternator and rental options against your project rather than assuming every configuration is available at every output.
Yes. FW Power can discuss Blackwell packages for hire fleets and end users, with options for acoustic treatment, fuel arrangements, socket panels, controls and handling. We agree a model-specific build specification and confirm feasibility, availability and lead time in the quotation. This page concerns equipment supply, rather than a short-term hire booking.
Tell us the target, operating load, measurement positions and site conditions. A number such as 65 dB(A) at 7 metres is a design brief to assess, not a standard performance promise for every generator. We confirm the achievable proposal and the evidence or acceptance test required before an order is agreed.
No. The stockholding photograph shows engines and alternators, but is not a live inventory. Ask our team for current quantities and allocations by engine model and alternator frame. A stocked component does not mean a complete acoustic generator is available immediately.
Blackwell is a British generator brand owned and distributed by FW Power. UK-assembled options are available, while build origin and component sourcing vary by range. If UK manufacture is part of your purchasing specification, state this at enquiry so the quotation confirms the proposed package and origin.
No. Rental specification describes the package and its practical features. Engine emissions certification is a separate selection requirement. Tell us where and how the generator will be used so we can assess an appropriate emissions specification, including Stage V options where required.
Automatic transfer and synchronised generator operation can be considered as part of the package. The controller, governor, alternator, switchgear and protection must be compatible with the intended arrangement. An ordinary ATS changes between supplies; it does not by itself provide generator paralleling.
Send us your brief and we will discuss suitable Blackwell options, current component availability and the next steps towards a quotation.
